Pryme: Reviews & Ratings
We went last night for my 50th birthday. THE VIBES WERE AWESOME- Jazz playing, blue decor, velvet chairs, gold accents. Got to meet the owner, he is a big Jazz fan, as are we. I loved the music playing and asked our server Edith if she knew what song it was and she found out for me. She was great- nice and attentive- bartender was great- he checked on me with both my drinks, (a dirty martini and espresso martini) the food- wow wow- we got stand up lobster Mac and cheese, shared a ribeye, thy cauliflower apologized, sweet potato Casserole and Brussels sprouts . An amazing night.
This is our 2nd time dining at Pryme and it will not be our last. As we entered we were greeted at the door as we were able to get a park in front of the building. The ambience was soothing. The DJ was playing the perfect music for a nice Sunday Brunch. We had the oysters as our starter. My husband had the chicken and waffles with a big bowl of grits/ sausage gravy and I ordered eggs, breakfast potatoes and bacon. The service was top tier to include: one of the owners, waitress and all other staff stopping by to say Hi. This is a great place to experience. If you’re ever in downtown Greensboro, this a “ Must experience restaurant “.
My husband and I had a wonderful first experience at Pryme. We read the reviews and decided to frequent and, the reviews were spot on! The food, service and atmosphere were great. Destiny, our server was polite, punctual and knew the menu well to make great recommendations for us. My husband had lobster and shrimp and, I had crab cakes and upstanding mac & cheese. From the attached pictures you can see the plentiful portion sizes and the wonderful presentation. Lastly, the atmosphere was classy and cozy. We will definitely return!
For our monthly girls outing we went to Pryme. The atmosphere was very nice and welcoming. I ordered the cauliflower as an appetizer (I enjoyed it but my friends weren’t sold on it) worth a try. My meal was the flounder with grits (so good, could not keep my friend from sticking her fork in my bowl). The fish was nice size and super crispy. The grits were very flavorful. Our server was Mo and she was AMAZING!!! Very attentive, complimentary, and knowledgeable about the options. They were so kind here that when we asked inquired about the room being too cold, they immediately made adjustments. Definitely a good spot to try again and again.
I was treated here for my birthday. I went on a Saturday evening around 7 pm. Our wait time was 45 mins, and it ran over a little, but the hostess was very communicative. We were taken to the upstairs waiting area, which was very elegant and a vibe. The bartender came up and took our drink orders and even offered us to eat at the bar if we would like great customer service from both. I had a strawberry drop and a lemon drop drink, and my guest had a smoked old fashion. This drink was smokey and had great flavors like cinnamon and cherries. We started off with the pryme yardbird, 3 whole wings in the pryme glaze. Absolutely delicious! I got the pryme pasta, which was tasteful. I don't really care for mussels, but theirs were very tender and good. It also came with fresh shrimp, scallops, lobster knuckle, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and broccoli in a lobster cream sauce with garlic bread. My guest had the lamb chops with the stand-up mac n cheese and the truffle fries. The macaroni comes inside manicotti noodles, and it has a smoked flavor. It was pretty good. The truffle fries had no seasoning but were decent. My guests' lamb chops were a little charred and a little disappointing, considering the price. Our server could have been better. She only came to our table twice, and my guest and I felt there was a lack of attentiveness. Our overall experience was nice. The best part for me was the atmosphere with the live band that had the whole place vibin. I would definitely come back to sit at the bar for drinks and some appetizers.
We were at Pryme on November 8 of 2025 celebrating my mother-in-law‘s 78th birthday. We went there because her hairstylist had highly recommended the place. We had a great time: the atmosphere, just the vibe of the place was wonderful. Be sure to take pics in front of the beautiful flower display. Everyone was great, from the hostess to our fantastic server, Danika, to a gentleman who I believe was the manager, and even the bartenders who came over to the table to see how our drinks were, I mean, everything was slamming. The food was really good: I had the prime pasta two smoked old fashions and a side of brussels sprouts. I kid you not those brussels sprouts w the bacon bits were fantastic! My sister-in-law had the crabcakes and the sweet potato casserole and a shrimp cocktail. My mother-in-law had the lobster and prawns which she really liked and a Caesar salad which she end up sending back because she didn’t like the dressing on the Caesar salad. My wife had the prime yard bird which was three chicken wings and a barbecue type sauce which was pretty good and she also had the lobster prawns with the standing mac & cheese which was decent. For dessert we got a slice of blueberry cheesecake, a slice of strawberry cheesecake and sis got some bread pudding, all of which were delicious. The staff came out, rang a gong (!!) and wished Mom a Happy Birthday!! They even bought her out a birthday dessert which was very kind of them. The only thing that was missing was that for some reason the live jazz band was not there that night. We had expected them to be there, but we were told that they were there on Friday. We’ll have to make sure that we get there next on the right day so that we will be able to enjoy the live jazz. They had recorded jazz playing in the background and it was terrific, but as we all know, live is usually better. I’ve got to give this visit to the restaurant a very strong nine out of 10. We’ll definitely be back!!
What a awesome place! The whole atmosphere was ! What a great anniversary dinner my husband and I had. Crab cakes, lamb chops, lobster and shrimp, lobster mac cheese and the cheesecake banana bourbon (topping) was top notch. The best part was our waitress Berneé, she was just amazing and so pleasant.
I was in town for a concert and wanted to treat my daughter and I so we tried this hidden gem! Let me begin by saying that you really have to pay attention to the building number because it’s not out there, however as soon as you enter the doors the ambiance is so stylish! The music is amazing and the service was outstanding. The drinks were great as much as the curtesy of the bartending manager. Our server was super sweet and advised us on our great food selection. Fried oysters were so tasty, but the crab cakes win the best crab cakes we ever had, and yes even better than those from MD!! Filet mignon was simply perfect, so much as it did not need the au poivre sauce I ordered, although very delicious nonetheless. My only regret is we didn’t have room for dessert!
